Amy Wyckoff, the artist behind Agate & Elm, creates jewelry pieces that feels like wearable pieces of nature. Inspired by the natural elements that surround her, each piece she crafts is thoughtfully designed and handmade in celebration for the wild that envelops us.
Created with care in her studio in Portland, Oregon, Amy uses high quality semi-precious gemstones, rocks and crystals in her pieces. One of these stones is called Opalized Wood. Opalized Wood is a rare form of Petrified Wood, it's formed over millions of years by silica rich water seeping into buried wood which hardens into Opal! This stone is very unique and each part of it looks entirely different.
In Amy's most recent collection she sent to us, several of her pieces were made from Opalized Wood. That stone combined with her creative mixed metal bezel work, made for some beautiful pieces.
