Alex is the one woman show behind North Star Jewelry Co., her business was born from her love of the outdoors and her elemental, earthy soul. She uses ancient jewelry techniques to create her jewelry designs, including soldering, forming and forging, wax carving; stone setting; and hand-engraving. Instead of working with mined metals, she instead opts for industrially recycled precious metals or reclaiming silver and gold by hand in her fully equipped jewelry studio. Ethically mined, natural gemstones form the heart and soul of many of her designs, and she is particularly drawn to North American mined gems, sapphires of American and Sri Lankan provenance, and antique/upcycled diamonds. Alex pours her heart and soul into each piece she create and her passion for this work is evident.
